About the destination
The Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark, in Guadalajara, is a clear example of how geology and biodiversity thrive in a destination and provide the perfect mix for all sorts of wildlife and human activity to coexist. The cultural heritage is also significant in the area where monasteries, castles, salt flats and archaeological sites (to name but a few) merge in the landscape and shape the history of the land and its inhabitants.
The Regional Museum of Molina has an important selection of Palaeontology, Mineralogy, Archeology and Natural displays with regular exhibitions and educational activities.
Ecotourism experiences
Have you ever experienced a forest bath to connect with nature? In Molina Alto Tajo Geopark, in Guadalajara, you can enjoy a Shinrin Yoku (forest bath in Japanese) and immerse yourself with your local host in a meditative and conscious walk in the woods. You will also practice “earthing” with leather moccasins, a moment to fully connect with the earth and its energy through your feet.
In addition, the protected area is ideal to visit with a local guide to get to unique and secret places quite unexplored. By doing this, you will benefit from knowing first-hand the diversity of landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage. You can also ask for a guided visit to the Torre de Aragón, a mediaeval fortress built on the remains of a Celtiberian fort, or to the Molina de Aragón Regional Museum.
